The very thought of you, Speeds Production.......

Seventy years ago the allied troops stormed Europe and started towards the end of WWII.

At the end of WWII, East Germany has created, and every company in East Germany was frozen in time. In 1989, after the wall fell and East Germany joined the West, commerce started to grow and there was a rewakening of relations.

Now here we are, 70 years later where these same companies, once blocked from the West, are producing some of the finest products around for our markets. I am not trying to belittle the price that was paid by so many during the war, but I am saying that Freedom is a beautiful thing.

And thanks to the courge of many people, over 70 years ago, I am able to be here today, to tell you that our partner, in former East Germany, is right on track for deliveries of the special German Glass Glitter for the Miss Mustard Seed Glitters, and that we should start making our first deliveries next week.

So to all the fallen, to all who we lost, to all the brave, that 70 years ago made this happen, "The Very Thought of You, Speeds Production".

We are in the middle of production and expect to be making shipments come the middle of June. All orders we get before then will be shipped as soon as product is off the production line!  When you preorder you will have three payment options

1) Pay by credit card: We will only charge once we are ready to ship.
2) Pay by Paypal:  We will get your prepaid order ready to go right away!
3) Request an paypal invoice: Just request this in the comment section and once we are ready to ship, we will send you an Paypal invoice. You can take care of the payment, once we are ready to ship your order!

Announcing Miss Mustard Seed German Glass Glitter

We are extremely happy to announce that we have formed a partnership with Marian Parsons (Miss Mustard Seed) to manufacture and distribute the Miss Mustard Seed blend of German Glass Glitters!

With Miss Mustard Seed as our creative spark, and our world class partners and manufacturing, this is a partnership that was meant to be!

      

We are launching with five colors and will be accepting pre-orders next week for shipping in mid to late June. And once the production line starts, we will be at full production in no time at all.

Questions? Here is our FAQ on this new product launch. 

1) Is the same German Glass Glitter that Meyer Imports is so well known for?

Yes, however, we have been working directly with Miss Mustard Seed to develop a Glitter Blend that is unique to her and created in Germany under direct supervision of our German partner. 

While more colors will be following soon, we are launching with Tiara Silver, 14 Karat Gold, Carnival Glass Blue, Flapper Black and Fallen Snow White to start.

2) What is the package size and weights?

Each wide-mouth jar holds 4oz of Glitter. Theis jar is unique as it makes it so easy to take out just a pinch or to replace any unused Glitter.

3) Is the product packed and labeled for retail sales?

Yes, each jar is labeled for retail sales, ready to be displayed in your shop or store front.

4) Are you selling both retail and wholesale?

Yes, The retail price for a 4 oz jar is $18.95. We will be selling these jars on our website and other proprieties we manage, but always at the full retail price.

Wholesale accounts will be able to purchase by the case at substantial discounts from our retail price.

5) What are the wholesale packs and the number of jars per case?

Each wholesale case contains 12 jars, and we are offering discount tiers for 3, 5 and 20 cases. And you can mix and match colors if you only need one case or less!

6) Can all existing Meyer Imports Dealers buy Miss Mustard Seed Glitters at the wholesale pricing?

Yes, all our existing wholesale accounts, dealers, retailers and distributors will be able to purchase Miss Mustard Seed Glitter, along with all our other products.

7) How do we become a dealer, so our store can sell Miss Mustard Seed Glitters?

Really easy. You need to set up an account on our site at Meyer Imports, and fill out a very simple online application. All the details can be found here.

8) Since this is real glass, are there any precautions with the product?

Yes, it really should not be used with kids, or anywhere kids can get into the product. Other than using good safe common sense practices, (keep away from eyes, do not eat, mix with food, use on children decorations, etc) there are no other risk or concerns.

9) Can it be used outside?

No, we do not recommend using the glitters in direct sunlight. The UV rays will cause the colors to fade rather quickly.

10) How do we order and when will it be ready to ship?

Been Quiet. Been Working. Been getting ready for change

This is my first blog post of 2014. It might look like we fell off the earth. Still here. Still active. Still offering the best products with the best service team around. But things are different. Just like your kids, we are growing up. Getting bigger. Getting stonger. Able to do things we could not do before.

Last holiday season, we were working harder than ever before just to keep up. I have never seen the volume of new customers, new orders and repeat customers. Every part of the business was at maxium capacity. And then 2014 hit. And we instantly started getting ready for this new year by investing a huge amount in new products, with new suppliers in Germany, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, the UK. Little companies that create wonderful products who want us as their single distributor in the Americas. Kind of cool.

It is also time to revamp our retail stores on ebay, and we are investing to make that happen. And our website is looking kind of stale, so we are fixing that. And some of our largest customers, are now going to be business partners, so we are working on that.

So, while it may look that we are sleeping, we arereally back in the workshop building something that is going to be better for us and better for you.

Which brings me full circle back to you, our customers and blog readers. All the changes I talked about above are because of your input. Watching what interests you and then offering more. Listening to your comments (and complaints) and fixing them. Getting to know the designers and bloggers you know (and trust) and creating deeper, long term relationships with them.

So, thanks for the best year we have ever had. And please do watch over the next 6 months as tons of exciting things start to spring from the trust you have given us. As a supplier, a partner and as small part of everything you create!

One of the most wonderful experiences of the season for us, is being able to sit back to see Meyer Imports Glitter projects pop up all over the internet as all the glitter we shipped "last month" turns into this month delightful creations.

We feel is our job to find the "best of the best" and catalog them, present them and save them for future reference (see our Projects and Tutorial section).

We literally shipped tons (pallets full) of German Glass Glitter this season and I have been tracking where it went and where it was used. Lucky for me, so many of my customers are bloggers, and not only bloggers, but great photographers and writers as well.

So, it is easy to find a huge number of great projects that are using Meyer Imports glitters. This is just one of them, but wow what a great idea.

All Things Beautiful

On the blog "All Things Beautiful" a simple but very beautiful project that (for the first time that I have seen) is using Sheet Music as a base for printed images. Now, this is a great idea and worth the trip over to the posting.

Time to start blogging again!

This has been the busiest holiday season we have ever had at Meyer Imports! Between new products, new partnerships and new marketing programs, we were so happy to have talked to so many new customers and to have help all of you out with products for your holiday projects.

Sure, we are still getting orders and, yep we can ship it out today, but we are also enjoying the opportunity to be "not as" busy so we can once again stop to smell the flowers, admire the glitter and launch new products!

So, now that I have little time back, to the blog I go! I have SO MANY holiday craft projects to share with you, my email box is overflowing with all the great ideas, projects and glittery, wonderful exciting creations that our customers designed this season. So stay tuned for a blog post a day to see the "best of the best" our customers have to offer!

It's a Festivus Miracle! The Mini Gnomes are back!

These little 1" Gnomes have quickly become one of our best selling items. It might be because they are so cute, or the fact that we are the only company in North America that imports these, or maybe just because Gnomes are plain awesome.

I came across these on one of my trips to Germany, and was so happy to ink a deal to be the Gnome Guy for North America. We imported a few thousand as a test and ran through them way faster than anyone thought we would. It took a while to get a larger shipment in (these are all hand painted, and take time to produce) but we got our load in this week and are already shipping these out to our Gnome Loving Customers!

Being a Marketing Genius is hard work.

At the start of November I launched what I thought was a pretty good idea. "We should offer samples to all our customers, so they can try, explore and play with items they just want to check out"

Wow, Open the flood gate. Push the peddle to the metal. Turn the amp up to Eleven. And pack that glitter as fast as you can!

I know this is the start of the busiest time of the year and our customers always need more glitter around the holidays, but it was like flipping a switch from normal to super overdrive and it has not slowed down yet!

So, we are peddling as fast as we can, and are sorry if it is taking us an extra day or two to get your order out, but at least you are getting a free sample with every order!

And if you did not ask for your free sample, shame on you!!!! This is not some hollow offer, this is a real and we mean it!

Many, many customers are walking away with a little something extra in their order just because they asked! You should too!

Ok, back to work, we got orders to ship and the Elves in the pack out room are demanding more Hot Cocoa.....
