From the joys of Christmas, which is now just a memory, and a new year which is firmly upon us, we are entering the Wintery Valley before Spring. Yes, we are officially in the "Blue" period of the year. Spring is not here yet, Summer is way far away and there is not even a good holiday anywhere in sight, until March.
Thus, under this ominous cloud, we offer you the bluest of the blues, Our Blue Fusion.
In an industry that sometime lacks real innovation, our Fusion line of glitters has really taken our little company by storm and are becoming one of best selling glitters. So, it was just natural that we would extend the line by offering more colors.
This is a mixture of different sized glass grains, designed to not only give you the coverage of the small size glass grains, but with the sparkle that you can only get from the large chuck glass glitter.
However, another important aspect of this color is the blending of the shades of Blue. You see, many times the chunky glitters and the fine glitter have small differences in the shading of the color. This is normal occurrence of the production of the glitters, and normally you do not see it. But, we have taken this shading balance to add yet another dimension to Blue Fusion. From the deep blue of the chunky glass to the dusty blue of the fine, this adds a whole another element of this product.

We started in July: Well, this is the real fun part of the business. Trying to order new products in time to allow for development, production, shipping and then marketing. So back in July, when I thought it would be great to have some new Orange Super Shards for Halloween, I went to work. We started working with our partner in Germany, we did a couple of batches, (close but no cigar), changed the process, tried again, better, but not perfect, and then on the 3rd try - PERFECT.
So now, it's time to move to production, so,just make me a couple hundred pounds, please, - and oh by the way, I need like 5,000 pounds of Silver right away. Well silver comes first (Silver always comes first!) so our Orange kind of got bumped to the end of the production line. No worries, plenty of time until Halloween. Right?
And then the Holidays hit and we were running production day and night and our new Orange got bumped again. And then add 6 weeks to get it to the US from Germany and Halloween was over. Actually over a long time ago.
But the good news is that we have some great Orange Super Shards for next year - already in stock and ready to go! I guess it is better to be early instead of late? Well, we are way early for Next Halloween!
We have alot of mushroom in the warehouse and they kind of look the same, with variations for size and color. So, I was not surprised when one of the guy opened a box and ShaBamm, thousands of Extra Large Brown Mushrooms that have been in stock for years, but never put on our site for sale. Wow, what a find!
They are almost as tall as our friend - The Gnomie! They are made from plaster and do not like moisture. However they were produced in the 1960's or 1970's, so they are sturdy and ready for your next crafting or art project. Want a sample? Whenever I see a store that carries Glitter, I always stop and take a look. But I really did a double stop at Wishes Designs when I saw their photos. Being kind of a connoisseur of Glass Glitter photos, I thought these were really great. The older book as a platform to frame the shot, the stack of colorful jars, the pink flower for color contrast. Really nicely done.
And the use of background focus to direct the eye to the "sparkle" is smart. The glitter looks great, the photos look great and the store looks fantastic! You can just tell when a store is being run by true craft / artists. (not like me, a fake craft artist who is doing the best I can....) I learn alot from their shots, and you can see all their design flare, by clicking over to Wishes Designs!
Once upon a time we only sold Glass Glitter (and mushrooms and miniatures and trees) but mostly just Glass Glitter. Then a very smart customer asked us, "do you have any of the little glass vials with the corks?".
Well in my world, this was a throw down, a "double dog dare you" to find glass vials with corks, and we did.
Lots of different sizes and shapes.
And then a smart customer asked if we had a simple and easy way to fill them "without making a mess". It was the "without making a mess" part of this request which was the "double dog dare".
So, challange accepted, and we scoured our sources to come up with a little tiny funnel that fits the Vials just perfectly. (with the exception of Super Shards, which are one tad too large to get through the funnel). But all other Glitters, Flitters and Flakes work great. Now sit back and enjoy pictures of our new funnel in action!
Direct from Germany, little tiny baby duckies, hand painted and about 1/2" tall. Really tiny and really cute!
These come in a set of 8 ducks, so you get some to play with today and some to play with tomorrow. And they are so small, you can easily carry them in your purse, so you will alway have a teeny-tiny duck, just in case you have a emergency that requires a small duck. Or two!(Or even three!)
And also we just got in some new teeny tiny deer!
These deer come in two sizes, little and littler! The bigger size in about 1" tall and the smaller set of deer is about 1/2" tall. So it is kind of a momma and her babies grouping of little deers. Too Cute!

So, what do German Pretzels, Birds, Snowmen and Meyer Imports all have in common? Running Rabbit Studios and Roxanna Groves!
You see, I love German Pretzels, (and so does Roxanna) and of course anything Glittery (and so does Roxanne!)
So today we are featuring two of her projects, and one of her recipes. It just does not get better than this! We have one photo above (thanks for sending this in Roxanna!) of her Glittery Sheet Music Birds (These birds were immensely popular at Christmas, are made from papier mache and old sheet music, and she is now going to do them for her gallery!)
And here is are her wonderful Snowmen made from old salt shakers with our DecoBeads! (very cool idea). And I love the part of the project post that goes "something, something, something else but Meyer Imports gets my vote for buying a large quantity". I read that a few times! But does this mean we need more colors? Better Colors? What does Martha have that I don't. (must look into this one!).
And once your Birds are all Glittery and your Snowmen are full of sparkles, it is time to sit down to a good warm German Pretzel. Are they hard to make? No! And here is the recipe! I am whipping up a bunch right now!

Now, most customer know us from our miniatures or our German Glass Glitters (nothing wrong with that!). But, with thousands of other products in inventory, we have so many, many items which just have not been discovered by our loyal customers.
