Sometimes, things just work out. I woke up this morning and thought, "you know, fall is here, I should do a post on something Glittery for fall" A quick Google search and "boom" just what I needed!

Jenna does a great (and funny write up) on this simple project and gives you just enough details to make easy as (pumpkin) pie!

And with both Halloween and Thanksgiving right around the corner, this is a great time of year to get crafty, Autumn Crafty that is.

So Thank you Jenna for helping to bring the changing of the seasons to us with a wonderful use of Glitter! We loved the post and your use of Glitter! Please keep Glittering!

Halloween Diorama, with all the Bells, Whistles and Pumpkins!

We spend a lot of time working with our customers and our design team to present you with some of the best uses of our products and to give new customers ideas for their next creation. But sometimes we just need to look in our own backyard to find that spark of creativity for us to present. Today we have that spark!

You see, I was away for a few days and left the business in the hands of my very capable staff. Well, guess what happens when you leave a warehouse full of German Miniatures and Glass Glitter (and a few very crafty workers) without "adult" supervision? Well apparantly, when the cats are away, the mice get out the glue guns!

Witches on brooms, lots of hay bales, pumpkins and flying bats!

The result is a diorama for us to use at the upcoming Glitterfest that shows how Halloweeny we can really be. With tons of minitures you will not find anywhere else, and glitter to boot, we are a one stop miniture powerhouse supplier!

Fairy Dust on ETSY. wow, lots of it!

Sometimes I forget that a lot of people do not like the word Glitter (I do not know why!) and call this shiny, shiny stuff Fairy Dust (or Diamond Dust, or Sparkle Dust or ??) And as proof of this if you click here you will see thousands of items on ETSY under the Fairy Dust name.

Some of this Fairy Dust is cheap Glitter and some of it is very fine German Glass Glitter (I guess it is best to know your Fairy Dust supplier to make sure you are getting the good stuff!)

All of it seems to come in nice little vials. So, if you looking for the vials or the dust, we have your Fairy Dust needs covered!

So call it what you want, just make sure you have plenty of hand for your Halloween or Fairy Dusting needs!

Witches, Bats, Pumpkins and Hay, Oh My!

In keeping with our Halloween Theme this week, I thought I should offer up something besides just Pumpkins and Glitter, so today, I offer you Witches, Bats, Hay and of course Pumpkins. 

And in keeping with our motto, "Tiny good, large bad" (we are just not too creative here) these are all about an inch tall, except mean old Ms Witch who stands a little over 3" tall.

Introducing PETOP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Pumpkins)

Each year thousands and thousands of Pumpkins are slaughtered for the cruelest of all holidays, Halloween. 

This year we are asking everyone to join PETOP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Pumpkins) and to not carve, mutilate and destroy your Pumpkins, but rather to encase them in the jewel-like Glitters that your Pumpkins crave!

Don't do this to your poor Pumpkins!

Oh, the horrors! This Pumpkin has been cut short in the prime of it's life!

Now, this is what your Pumpkins want! To be beautiful!

 

To be glamorous!

  To be loved!

So, this year, think about Glittering your Pumpkins, they will be happier, you will be happier and the world will just be a better place!

 

We get asked if we sell to Wholesale Accounts. Yes. Yes we do.

I realize that we have a friendly looking website and it may appear that we are just another "home based" craft supply company.

Nope, we are deadly serious about what we do and are the largest supplier of German Glass Glitter in the USA.

While we are happy to sell by the ounce, the pound or the kilo, I wanted to share some of our larger customers shipments and "show off" a typical order for a these bigger guys.

Here is a 1,000 pounds of Silver Glitter heading off to be used in the manufacture of Christmas Decorations. 

Each box contains 110 pounds of Glass Glitter!

Here is One Ton of Glitter heading off to a customer who is using it to create sparkly floors, counter tops and other designer products for the home.

So the key message here is that at Meyer Imports we are small enough to give you really personal attention, and large enough to ship out a ton of Glass Glitter at a time! And loving every minute of it as well!

I had two names for this blog post and loved them both. So, this is my first "dual" Name Blog post - ever! So "Get Ready" or "Take them on Parade" - it's your choice! Either way, just make sure you have lots of Glitter!

We've Opened our Halloween Store, So get ready to Pumpkin!

Ok, so I am at Costco, buying some huge things that only came in the extra large size, and the store is filled with Christmas stuff. I mean come on, it was like the first day of Fall, Halloween is 6 weeks away. Thanksgiving is not even scheduled yet, and you are selling Christmas items. Wow. So, I took it as a sign that we should open up our Halloween store and get ready to start shipping Witches, pumpkins, spiders and hay bales. If Costco is already selling Christmas, I am really late!

Customer Spotlight: Inspiration Cottage & Pumpkin Spice Glitter

We love our customers, and not just because they are customers! We love them because they bring something new to the business and to the industry by expanding it, blending it with their own products and creating something new!

Inspiration Cottage is a great example of this. Sure they sell German Glass Glitter, but what if you needed a pink with brown nagorie feather pad?

 Or some nice Pumpkin Trim?

You see, you can get the German Glitter from us, or you can find our Glitter all over Etsy being sold by partners that really bring some unique products to the market. So, you should go to Inspiration Cottage for the Glitter, but then stay for the Pumpkin Trim (or the little duckie ribbon). I mean, how could you not want the little duckie ribbon!

We "Heart" new products, and add them all the time!

We have a very active "new item" section in our blog and if you want to know what is new and what we have been upto, it's the best place to go!

Every time we list something new in the store, we post a quick picture and link on our new list. It is now a pretty long list, but wow, from miniatures, to glitter, to mica to more-more-more, we have been busy.

And wait until you see what's next! It's going to be big I tells ya, it's going to be big!

When is it NOT time for more Glitter! Halloween is around the corner!

We can already tell, designers and crafters are getting ready for Halloween, (and Christmas). It's funny that we can tell what the season is, just by the colors of Glitter that are flying out the door.

So, from our vantage point, something big and orange with some black is going to happen soon, followed by something red, green and gold. We are not quite sure what these events are, we just know that our custmers are creating something big.

And that Orange and Black seem to be the colors of the week!

I wonder why?

Getting ready for FALL, the most glittery way possible!

We have great customers, really great customers who create great projects, really great projects. And Katie is part of our design team that is always coming up with just the right project, at just the right time!

So, today, coming on the heels of another post we did on Glittery Letters is one of the most colorful Letter posts I have seen in a long time! So, on this first day of September, I thank Katie Of The September Tree for this beautiful project submission!

Glitter used on this project:

 Fire Orange   Deep Red Grit 80   Emerald 90 Grit   Violet Dazzel

• First gather all the products that was needed for this project. Lay tin foil over the table.

• Then apply a thick layer of mod podge to a letter at a time. 

• Next sprinkle the glitter over the entire letter.  

• Wait 5 minutes or until dry.

• Tap the glitter off gently with your finger and put extra glitter back in the bags.

 

 

Applied to a Bubble Burlap Wreath with hot glue!

 

This is the outcome! Gorgeous! :)
